“We must not only enter the Christian life by faith, but we must advance by faith each step of the way. At every new stage we shall find ourselves as incompetent and unequal for the pressure as before, and we must take the grace and the victory simply by faith.”
— A.B. Simpson, Days of Heaven on Earth, March 26 —

Faith and Feelings
‘Where in the Bible are feeling and faith said to be at odds? The fact is that faith engenders feeling as certainly as life engenders motion. We can have feeling without faith, it is true, but we can never have faith without feeling. Faith as a cold, unemotional light is wholly unknown in the Scriptures. The faith of those Bible heroes listed in the Book of Hebrews invariably aroused emotion and led to positive action in the direction of their faith. A statement, a promise, a warning always produced a corresponding excitation of feeling in the heart of the believer. Noah was “moved with fear.” Abraham “rejoiced” and “obeyed.” The Book of Acts is almost hilarious with joy. Perhaps the best summary of the whole thing is made by Paul when writing to the Romans, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” And Peter says, “Believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.”‘
— A.W. Tozer, Paths to Power, 53-54. —

Fellowship
“Some Christians try to go to heaven alone, in solitude. But believers are not compared to bears or lions or other animals that wander alone. Those who belong to Christ are sheep in this respect, that they love to get together. Sheep go in flocks, and so do God’s people.” — C.H. Spurgeon —

Filling of the Spirit
“To be filled with Christ is not only to be filled with divine life in every part, but it is to be filled every moment It is to take Him into the successive moments in our conscious existence and to abide in His fullness. Christ is not a reservoir but a spring. His life is continual, active and ever passing on with an outflow as necessary as its inflow. If we do not perpetually draw the fresh supply from the living Fountain, we shall either grow stagnant or empty, It is, therefore, not so much a perpetual fullness as a perpetual filling.”
— A. B. Simpson, The Best of A.B. Simpson, 38-39 —

“If we cannot trust God to have dealt effectively with our past, we may as well throw in the sponge now and have it over with….But if God has indeed pardoned and cleansed us, then we should count it done and waste no more time in sterile lamentations.” –A.W. Tozer–

“If we don’t deal with our unresolved conflicts, they’ll deal with us….Are there people whom you need to forgive? Do yourself a favor. Give them something they don’t deserve but desparately need.
