Begin to seek out the promises of what God would do in and through you. Begin to “plead the promises”—praying for God to work in you and in other believers you know. As you pray and intercede, God will begin to work out those promises in your life. Continue reading

He desires us to be people who are being molded and shaped by God as we apply and live out the truths of the word. He is looking for disciples who are being trained to become like their master teacher, Jesus. He is looking for people who are using their gifts and abilities to edify and build up the body and to reach others with the good news. Continue reading

What is that Fragrance You Are Wearing?

As we know and walk in the fullness of Christ, we begin to take on an aroma–-the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Christ. Wherever we go, that pleasant aroma follows us. Just by being around us, people sense Christ’s joy, or his love, or his kindness, or one of his other winsome character qualities. As Christ lives out his life in us, we become more and more like him, and people begin to notice the difference. Continue reading

Nursery Duty

It’s not terribly surprising that a consumer culture produces so many spoiled spiritual babes, but it is sad. Growing up requires taking up the cross and dying to our selfish immaturity, moving beyond our comfort zone and our need to always have it our way. Continue reading
